Volunteer/Service Learning Opportunity

We are seeking 1-2 strong global health residents to assist with a special opportunity.

We are offering 2 one-day Hajj Travel Clinics:

Saturday      August 24th, 8am-2pm

Saturday      September 7th, 8am-2pm

This will be our second annual event and is meant to decrease disparities of care by bringing travel services to communities at need.  These clinics will be held on the Riverside Campus and will be open to all Muslim travelers who plan to participate in the annual pilgrimage.  Our faculty, clinic staff, and volunteers have worked hard for several years to build trust in the community.  We are seeking 1 or 2 residents to attend each clinic, provide travel health education, and work with Dr. William Stauffer.  This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about this population, health risks associated with travel to the Hajj and mass gatherings, as well as how to provide clinical travel medicine.

Please contact Dr. Chris Bowron (chris.bowron@gmail.com) or Debbie Luedtke (luedt047@umn.edu) if you are interested in volunteering in these efforts.
