a documentary that explores the healthcare challenges of three refugees and
their devoted doctors at a Minnesota primary care clinic.

The School of Public Health Alumni Society Board invites
member of the SPH and UMN community to attend this special screening as an
opportunity to network with fellow alumni, students and members of the public
health and medical community. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for attendees to gather,
grab some food and mingle with representatives from the evening’s partners
before lights go down at 6:00 p.m.
Prior to the film, guests will hear from Marge Higgins,
Minnesota Department of Health Refugee Health Program, on the refugee
population in Minnesota. Following the film, the panel discussion will feature
the film’s director, Chris Newberry; Dr. Patricia Walker, professor at the
University of Minnesota and physician at HealthPartners; Ehtaw Dwee, a
representative of the Karen Community in Minnesota; and, Marge Higgins. To
round out the evening, attendees are encouraged to stick around for more food
and conversation.
Refreshments from local restaurants will be available, as
well as a cash bar during the networking reception.
